“AI” MOBILE CHAT BOT

What is an AI Chat Bot? Have you ever found yourself browsing a website advertising its service, when a message pops up offering for you to “chat with an agent” to get your questions answered? Well, take that concept, add artificial intelligence, program it with timely and relevant information, and you’ve got yourself an L&D Chat Bot hosted by your local training department. Taking this one step further, I fused this concept with an educational game for employees (delivered via mobile phone) as part of a Diversity and Inclusion initiative to train sales associates on how to mitigate their own unconscious biases.

Business Issue: Return-On-Value was not measured following intact classroom facilitation. Standard follow-up methods were not engaging.

I created this AI-driven SMS/chat bot to help employees practice identifying their own unconscious biases following a facilitated, intact training session.

Objectives

  • Allow continued skills practice

  • Measure learning in real time

  • Provide analytics for learning impact

  • Deepen evaluation (add Levels 2 & 3)

Results: 74.7% response rate. 5% opt out rate. A four-week "AI” coaching cycle, with a 14-week run, followed by reporting and stakeholder presentations, led to the expansion of this solution into five additional topic areas.
